This study aims to: (1) estimate and empirically test the effect of electric vehicle adoption on electricity consumption in Indonesia, (2) measure the magnitude of the effect of electric vehicle charging infrastructure on electricity consumption, and (3) examine the effect of government policy on electricity consumption in Indonesia. This thesis employs quantitative research with a descriptive and verification approach. This study utilizes secondary data obtained from various official and verified sources, with panel data covering 38 provinces in Indonesia during the 2020–2024 period. The analytical techniques used include classical assumption tests and panel econometric models to analyze the relationship between electric vehicle (EV) adoption and electricity consumption in Indonesia. In processing panel data (data across time and across provinces), a panel regression model with fixed effects was used. The results show that: (1) electric vehicles have a positive effect on electricity consumption, (2) electric vehicle charging infrastructure has a positive and significant effect on electricity consumption, with a stronger level of significance than electric vehicles in certain models, and (3) government policy has a negative and significant effect on electricity consumption.
